Indiana University Folklore Institute files on the Smithsonian Festival of American Folklife 1987 1979-1995, (bulk 1986-1987).

The first series, Project Participation Research (1986-1987) contains application materials related to the 1987 Festival of American Folklife, project correspondence, materials given to presenters and participants, and festival research. The second series contains contains research about past festivals and materials documenting Festival History (1974-1987), including materials relating to the 1986 festival, a publicity report, press clippings, festival programs, and related publications of the Office of Folklife Programs at the Smithsonian. The third series, Student Projects (1979-1995), comprises the bulk of the overall collection and contains written reports, photograph collections, and audio and visual recordings.
